Learn to row Programs
Learn to scull
New scullers start in our stable trainer singles. Students can then advance to more narrow sculls when skills and interest allow. All classes launch from Bladensburg Waterfront Park just outside of Washington, DC.
Learn to Row Sweep
Our August Community Challenge brings new and lapsed rowers into crews. After a month of practice they compete in our Bladensburg Races.
Explore The Anacostia River
The Washington Rowing School was created to make the sport of rowing accessible to everyone. Whether you crave a new physical outlet or are looking for more enjoyable ways to spend time on the water, rowing combines grace, skill and balance with an invigorating workout. Founder and coach Cindy Cole brings over 40 years of competitive rowing and coaching experience. She is now offering one-on-one and small group rowing sculling instruction for beginners and experienced rowers alike. Classes and individual instruction are available for sweep rowing or sculling.

Annual programs and events
Spring rowing programs start March and April. Summer school runs June and July. Our August Community Challenge brings new rowers to compete at our Bladensburg Races. Fall programs start in September.
