Introduce your favorite teenager to a fun new sport. We welcome new rowers
to our program each spring and fall. Participants will learn about equipment
handling, teamwork, safety, and the basic rowing stroke. Our 2015 Junior
Crew fall season starts mid-September and continues to November 8.
Rowing classes are available for all levels, beginner to experienced.
Both sweep rowing and sculling instruction are offered. All classes are
taught in one, four, or eight-person shells (boats) depending on class
type. (Please see Rowing
Facts for more information on rowing types.) Special schedules
and rates for groups will gladly be arranged. All our classes require
24 hour notice for cancellation with credit. Reservations
are required. Our annual membership fee of $50 is required
for all WRS programs other than Learn to Scull and Junior programs. Registration

> Open Rows
Saturdays:
7:00 - 9:00 a.m. Come row with like-minded scullers. $15 drop-in fee for
certified scullers. Free to current weekday class members. Please contact
us if you would like to be certified for these outings. $50 membership
fee is required.
> Junior Rowing
These programs are for middle and high school students and focus on
small boats. All participants will learn to row a single scull. Bigger
boats will be rowed as skills develop and numbers allow. This is a great
opportunity to enjoy boating with friends from different schools.
Junior Spring 2015 Program
March 7 - May 17, Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Saturdays and
Sundays, 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Rowers, experienced and first-timers, can come try this sport on March
7 and 8 at no charge. After that the season payment is required to continue
participation. Drop-ins are not allowed.
Beginners will learn equipment
handing, terminology, basic rowing stroke, safety, and the importance
of teamwork.
Experienced rowers will
develop balance, bladework, fitness, and boat-moving skills. Rowers will
apply their skills by competing in local regattas.
Junior Spring Break Sculling Program 2015
Monday - Friday, April 6 - 10, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Learn those fine rowing skills that will make you a real boat-mover! Balance,
bladework, and self-management are key to all good rowers. All participants
will learn to row a single scull. In addition to on the water practice,
video taping, ergometers, and other land equipment will be used to work
on fitness, flexibility, and rowing technique.
Junior Summer Camp 2015
Dates: June 22 - August 21, 8:00 - 11:00 a.m., Monday - Friday
High schoolers, middle schoolers, boys and girls, beginners and experienced
are welcome. All participants will learn to row a single scull. Rowers
will progress to racing singles or larger boats as skills and numbers
allow. This is a great opportunity to learn boating skills and enjoy making
boats go fast on these warm summer days.
Rowers may commit to the program by week or for the summer.

Junior Fall 2015 Program
Fall FreeTry It Clinic
Dates: Sundays, September 13 and 20, 1:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Come get an introduction to rowing! Learn the basics on equipment, working
together, the rowing stroke, and boating skills. High school and middle
school students are welcome. All athletes must be able to swim and must
have a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. This clinic is required
for participation in our Fall Junior Novice Program.

Dates: September 6 - November 8, 2:00 - 4:30 p.m.
High schoolers, middle schoolers, boys and girls, beginners and experienced
are welcome. Participants will learn both sculling and sweep rowing. Rowers
will be grouped by skill level. The team will participate in local and
regional regattas.

Private instruction is also available. If you would like a class tailored
to your needs, please give us a call. Individual instruction is
$375 for 5 one-hour sessions or $90 per session. Or bring a friend and
pay $130 per outing,
