Welcome to Washington Rowing School

The Washington Rowing School was created to make the sport of rowing accessible to everyone. Whether you crave a new physical outlet or are looking for more enjoyable ways to spend time on the water -- rowing combines grace, skill and balance while giving you a full physical workout. Founder and coach Cindy Cole brings 40 years of competitive rowing and coaching experience and is now offering one-on-one and small group instruction for beginners and experienced rowers alike. Classes and individual instruction are available for sweep rowing or sculling.

Learn to row or perfect your technique on the tranquil waters of the Anacostia River. All classes launch from the Bladensburg Waterfront Park just outside of Washington, DC. View the current list of class times or contact us today to sign up.

New fall 2015 programs are starting. General descriptions are here. The most up to date class times will be found on our online registration page.

Learn to Scull classes are scheduled in the fall by arrangement. Groups of at least three can arrange their own times. It's a great time of year to learn to row! Get started to enjoy the beautiful spring weather from a rowing shell! Register here.

Want to try sweep rowing? Join us for our annual Community Challenge! Groups are forming to practice in eights and then come together for the big race-off at the Bladensburg Races on August 22. Register here. Look under Classes and Events for more information.
